Citizen-based Monitoring Program

TCWC, Friends of Tryon Creek, and US Fish & Wildlife have launched a volunteer monitoring program to help us assess conditions for salmon and trout in Tryon Creek.

Volunteers are needed to survey habitat and count fish redds (nests).

Thanks for another great Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Event!

Our 2nd annual Tryon Creek Watershed Wide Event: a day of hands on restoration was helpd April 30th and was a great success. Over 130 volunteers worked at 9 sites across the watershed. Thanks to our volunteers and partners for another great event!

Tryon Creek Restoration Monitoring Project

U.S Fish & Wildlife fish surveys in Tryon Creek indicate efforts to restore the watershed are paying off.  Numerous trout, salmon, and steelhead were found, including 3 juvenile Coho, a threatened salmon species. Click here for the full report (PDF)
