Tryon Creek will be hosting a special event to celebrate the longest day of the year.  Join us for storytelling from 7-8pm in the Jackson Shelter, followed by a night hike to learn how and why the seasons change as they do.  We will explore the trails from 8-9pm so come prepared to hike although you probably won’t need a flashlight! Learn how to observe your property and create a plan to manage for storm water, erosion control, and for planting attractive, low-maintenance, non-invasive plants. Receive a free on-site consultation after the workshop. This is the 4th workshop in a 2 year series on using your yard to help promote a healthy Tryon Creek Watershed. The workshop series is funded by a grant from Metro's Nature In Neighborhoods Program.

U.S Fish & Wildlife fish surveys in Tryon Creek Park indicate that years of effort to restore the watershed to natural health are paying off.  Numerous trout and steelhead were found. Most gratifying was the identification of 3 juvenile coastal Coho, a threatened salmon species. See the full report at the USFWS website.
